HISTORY AND BACKGROUND

New Starlight Construction was founded by U Kyaw Kyaw Win in 1999 in Mandalay. It started as a trading and logistics company, focused on importing building materials and exporting agricultural products to and from China. U Kyaw Kyaw Win decided to formally enter the construction business in 2009. 

NSL has since become the most prolific, highly regarded leading developer of real estate and infrastructure projects in Mandalay and Upper Myanmar.

As Myanmar continues with its economic and political reforms, it is rapidly becoming the geopolitical center of South East Asia. With AEC 2015 in effect and China-ASEAN FTA imminent, Myanmar stands to benefit immensely from exponentially growing trade relationships and foreign investment in South East Asia and surrounding regions.

The central geographic location of Myanmar in SEA and Asia in general, with Mandalay at the core of its heartland, is best illustrated by the diagram below of the proposed Pan-Asian highway and railway system. Mandalay was the former capital of Myanmar, and has always been its cultural center. Strategically located on the banks of the Irrawaddy River in Myanmar’s heartland, it has historically always been the crossroads between China, India and SE Asian civilizations for millennia. Today, Mandalay is Myanmar’s second largest city with over 1.5 million inhabitants and Upper Myanmar’s central economic hub. As Myanmar increasingly attracts greater strategic and economic interest from China, India, SE Asia, as well as the West, substantial foreign.

NSL aims to play a significant and leading part in the development of Mandalay and Upper Myanmar, as well as Myanmar as a whole, as of Myanmar embarks on its transformation. As China commences its ambitious “ One Belt One Road ” programme and as the economies of SE Asia and India continue growing strongly in the coming decades, Myanmar and Mandalay, are finely poised to take advantage of rising trade and investment flows in the region. With its proven reputation and leadership in developing the biggest real estate projects in Mandalay and Upper Myanmar, NSL is ideally positioned to take a front and center part in this rising future.
